"In all our relations with the world, every interaction serves as a mirror reflecting ourselves. Each painting, through its relationships with the world, becomes a self-portrait as the artist encounters themselves. Because what the artist depicts in their work is a revelation of how they perceive the world. Over time, I realized that these thoughts clarified my ideas about what art is. I noticed that the abstract geometric constructs I worked on, exploring relationships of color and form, emerged as the most direct way to encounter and discover myself," says Utku Dervent. The book features examples of Dervent's paintings from the past to the present, accompanied by texts written by Oğuz Haşlakoğlu and Ümit İnatçı about the artist's works.
